An opinion poll conducted by Tifa suggests that two in three Kenyans are opposed to Raila Odinga’s demonstrations.

The poll recorded only 31 per cent of Kenyans supporting the demonstrations that began last week.

The household-based survey (i.e., face-to-face) was conducted between March 11-19.

It should also be noted that the field interviews were completed on March 19 the day before the protest marches that occurred in Nairobi and several other urban areas the next day (on March 20).

No 64 per cent
No opinion 4 per cent

Will the Raila/Azimio demonstrations succeed in removing the Government from power?

Yes 16 per cent
No 72 per cent
Don’t know 12 per cent

Even among Azimio supporters only just over half, 56 per cent, said they supported the demonstrations.
