Senegal is now the reigning champions of the African Cup of Nations after beating Egypt 4-2 on penalties after a goalless draw in the final match on Sunday.

A decisive kick from Mane sealed the deal for Senegal.

Egypt has won the AFCON tournament seven times before.

Both teams had seasoned European League stars including Liverpool forwards Sadio Mane for Senegal and Mohamed Salah for Egypt.

Hosts Cameroon, who hosted Africa’s flagship football tournament for the first time in 50 years, came in third after an incredible comeback from three goals down before beating Burkina Faso on penalties.
