Odinga and Ruto in tight race for presidency

The latest opinion poll by Infotrak Research & Consulting predicts Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua on 42% of the vote against William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua’s 38%, IF the election was held today. 20% of respondents said they were ‘undecided’, or refused to answer.

When the opinion polling figures are translated into votes, they would give Raila Odinga 9.3m votes to Ruto’s 8.4m.

The opinion poll was based on the response from 9,000 respondents polled between May 22 and 27, with the poll having a margin of error or +/- 1%. The polling was undertaken a week after Odinga and Ruto had named their running mates.
