Advocate Chesang Murder Probe: Magistrate Pauline Omunga Linked to Husband Murder

Court has allowed police to detain Nyeri Magistrate Pauline Maiseh Omungala for nine days to conclude the probe into her role in the murder of lawyer Robert Chesang.

Pauline Maiseh Omungala was arrested and arraigned at the Mvoko court today and charged alongside three other people for killing her husband, Lawyer Robert Chesang. Two of the co-accused are policemen.

Chesang, who was an advocate of the High Court, was murdered in cold blood at their Moke Gardens home in Lukenya on February 17 after gunmen shot him through his living room window.

Mr. Robert Chesang had allegedly at some point sued the wife for domestic violence.

As reported by The Standard Newspaper, according to court records Chesang had filed a civil case against his wife under the provisions of The Protection Against Domestic Violence Act and the Persons Deprived of Liberty Act. The matter is documented in Miscellaneous Civil Application No. 342 of 2018 with Chesang being the applicant while Maisy was listed as the first respondent
